199X baby here and not one of the lucky ones who got their BTO before covid-19. The newer BTOs are smaller and so much more expensive, either too ulu or too ex because central area. We had to ballot freaking 12 times and Feb was finally successful, but compared to peers who starting balloting SAME TIME AS US and got lucky and already finish reno and collected their keys, we feel so screwed over by this dumb system. While others are starting their lives and their new families, we have to wait for our BTO to be built which takes a few more years. I should be grateful for our upcoming home but I am resentful that it took so long to get. We aren't trying to flip unlike some couples, but we also don't want lease decay to screw us over and a lot of the resale prices are too insane to consider. It's so unfair, I know gov completely give up on us and rather prio Gen Z as they are younger and more likely to be fertile but feeling left behind SUCKS. But if we complain we're entitled. Like yeah try being in our shoes, the most important milestone of our lives cannot settle, how to even have kids? 0.87 is deserved
