As a woman who’s considered conventionally attractive, I get my fair share of unwanted attention & harassment. Mostly I’m used to it. But it really grinds my gears when I take Grab & I get a driver who keeps trying to make conversation, keep staring at me through the rearview mirror, or even ask personal questions like “Do u have a bf?”/ “Wow wear until so nice, go bf house ah?”/ “You staying here alone or with family?”/ “Wah go shopping with bf ah?” First of all, guan ni pi shi. Secondly, I am a paying customer. I am paying for a service- to drive me from Point A to Point B. I’m not here to engage in conversation with you or make small talk. This is not a KTV, not a bar & we are not on a date. If you ask a question & there’s no answer, plus I’m wearing my AirPods; that’s a pretty obvious sign I do not wanna talk to you. Also, I am a woman alone in the car with you. A male stranger. Which puts me in a vulnerable position. Leering at me through the rearview mirror, asking personal questions etc is really crossing the line, not to mention extremely unprofessional. This post is no doubt gonna trigger lots of ‘male PHV drivers. I don’t care. Stop watching so much corn & maybe you’ll stop being a disgusting creep who looks at every woman through those yellow perverted lens. Disgusting. You make $10/ hour, most of y'all are ugly & you think you got chance with me. Look in the mirror before you speak.
