#12300: The longer I stay out of SG, the more I feel Singaporeans are entitled
#12300rantยท 1d ago

Not trying to rage bait, but recently caught up with my sgrean friends (I'm based overseas, hopefully permanently) and I realise I cannot stand the way Singaporeans in my circle think. Life is tough everywhere and I honestly think Singaporeans stay complacent and can't accept the consequences of nonchalance. A lot complain salary not high. I tried teaching them how to negotiate. Kept saying what, oh it won't work, it's not so easy... But wah, it worked when they actually try!! No thank you, no appreciation, and start saying "Yeah I deserve this.". Attitude flip like prata. Then comes envy and sloth. It's like we cannot appreciate when people are doing well and we need to find some justification why we're not doing as well. "Ah this person confirm nepo baby, must be parents help." or "I think I have mental illness that's why I struggling." Anything to wash the blame of themselves when they don't achieve certain things. Then in the grand scheme of things, everyone complains about Singapore. But when moving overseas is suggested with very viable options and examples of other Singaporeans moving, excuses, excuses, excuses. Don't complain when you don't wanna move or do anything to change your situation?? Wtf?? Then when it comes to doing business, all passive. Idea and product is there already, but all lazy and don't want to execute, but too cheap to pay someone else to do execution. How to be successful like this? I think I need new friends.
